Abstract: Crohn's disease is part of the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) complex and it is characterised by a debilitating illness comprising chronic relapsing symptoms of frequent stools with mucus and blood, often severe abdominal pain and systemic symptoms of arthralgia, myalgia, anorexia, weight loss, low-grade fevers, fatigue and general unwellness. Integrative management of Crohn''s disease involves suppressive pharmacotherapy in acute and flare-up phases and identification and treatment of underlying triggers, antigens and promoter mechanisms.
